It's a cool, crisp, Saturday morning. The fresh air goes in your lungs and back out, refreshing your mind, body, and soul. What could be better than fishing on a beautiful morning like this in some of the finest freshwater fishing spots in the world? Well, you might say "Nothing!". However, imagine doing it for a good cause and raising money for the Shands Children's Miracle Network Hospitals!

Each year, hundred of boats converge on the sportsmen's paradise called Bienville Plantation located north of Lake City in the beautiful town of White Springs. This plantation is world famous for it's 14,000 acres of hunting and fishing, considered by many to be the best in the world.

This event is in it's 12th year, and started as a way for the S&S Corporate Office to raise money to compete with the fundraising efforts of the stores. What started as a simple idea has quickly become one of the most highly anticipated bass-fishing tournaments in North Central Florida.

This year's tournament takes place on Saturday, May 12, 2007. The cost is $225 and includes the Big Bass contest. Please note, the entry fee jumps to $250 if you register at check-in gate that morning, so register early and save! 

In addition, there will be a special raffle this year to win the Ultimate Fisherman's Dream -- an overnight stay at Bienville Plantation, meals, and a full day guided fishing trip. There will only be 200 tickets sold, and they will be offered to fisherman first, so make sure you don't miss your chance! You can include the $25 ticket cost for the raffle in with your entry fee. 

This year, we continue the Bassin' for Shands tradition with a large selection of raffle prizes and giveaways, in addition to the large purse we pay out to the winners! Here is a break down of this year's prize money:
